Menopause Café – 18th Feb 2019, 11.30am – 1.30 pm
I’ve been attending a Menopause Café in Rogerstone for the past few months and have found it to be a friendly, supportive, informative, relaxed environment to discuss the Menopause.
Why I’m Hosting a Menopause Café
It has inspired me to set-up one locally as I know there are many who are experiencing this time of life, often suffering in silence, not sure where to turn for support, confused about possible treatments, coping strategies, frustrated by the lack of understanding from family, friends, employers, colleagues.
The first Menopause Café was founded by Rachel Weiss in June 2017 Perth, Scotland, it was so successful that they’re increasingly popular and appearing throughout the UK.
The Purpose of a Menopause Café:
“At a Menopause Café people, often strangers, gather eat cake, drink tea and discuss the Menopause.
Our objective is:
To increase awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it, their friends, colleagues and families, so that we can make conscious choices about this third stage of life.
Our Menopause Cafes are offered:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conculsion, product or course of action.
- Alongside refreshing drinks and cake!
Who is it for?
Anybody interested in sharing their stories, experiences and questions about menopause. All genders and all ages. Men and women and inbetween. Old and young and inbetween.” [www.menopausecafe.net]
